It's been a while since I've written...I've been so busy. I can't imagine how exhausted I would be if I had a job right now, too! Of course, part of my business is looking for a job, so I guess that's a toss-up. I actually have an interview tomorrow for a very cool company...so fingers crossed. Looking for a job is hard, yo! But it sure beats commuting every day, so I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
It was great going back to New York. I really felt like I hadn't left, it was weird. I saw all my friends and went to a couple of birthday parties. I also made some new friends in my pal Handle's roommates. I did SO MUCH walking on one of the days, I figured out that I walked almost 100 blocks. Needless to say, I was exhausted. And then I got sick. All of Handle's roommates had been sick, so I caught it there. I lost my voice and got a WICKED cold that turned into a sinus infection. People, it made me miss St. Patrick's Day. I don't think you understand how upsetting that is to me! It's my personal high holy day. I was depressed for days. I was actually sick for over a week, it really sucked. I still have a bit of a cough, but that's always the last thing to go away.
While I was sick, I managed to make it to a shower for Bells thrown by her maid of honor. I am so glad I was up for it, because it was a blast. Her MOH's house is AMAZING, and it was fun to sit at a table with all my friends and laugh and gossip. We were surrounded by friends of the mothers and grandmothers, so we were a little island of young people. Also, there were like 50 people at the shower, so when Bells started to open her presents, we all went a little stir crazy. We MAY have been playing drinking games, and I MAY have written a limerick about Bells and her fiancť, and we MAY have been trying to goad Bells into saying things for our own amusement. We still acted like ladies, though! Just very loud, slightly drunk ladies. This Saturday is another shower for her, should be just as fun.
On Tuesday The Boyfriend and I got back from Arizona, where we'd been since Thursday with his family. They go every year to Scottsdale, where the San Francisco Giants are based for spring training, and go to games and restaurants and basically have a great vacation. This was my third time going with them, and it gets better every year. This year, TB's nephew came along and we just had a blast with him. He's four months old now, and SO FREAKING CUTE! He's so chubby and happy, he smiles and babbles all the time. We took him to his first baseball games, and even though I hate the Giants, he looked pretty damn cute in his little Giants uniform. TB and I loved that we could just hang out with him and chill or play whenever we wanted. And, in glorious fashion, could return him to his parents when he smelled like poop. While The Boyfriend kept commenting that I had serious baby lust, I will stick with Rigby for now! I don't have to wipe her butt and she can feed herself!!
Now that we're back from Arizona, I feel like it's time for me to really find my path. I have enjoyed two nice months of being at home, and while I would seriously not mind at LEAST another two months, I know I have to find a job, and fast. It's not like I haven't been looking, but I honestly didn't want a job before the Arizona trip and I think because I didn't want one, I didn't get one. I have some expensive months ahead of me, and my bank account has dwindled to a dangerously low amount. I wish I could find an awesome job where I could work from home so I could still play with my puppy! Hee hee...wishful thinking, I know.

The Boyfriend and I had a fun weekend up in Northern California visiting his family. We couldnít believe how much bigger his nephew has gotten in the two months since weíd last seen him. Predictably, he is totally adorable. He has big chubby cheeks and the most gorgeous brown eyes Ė so dark they are practically purple. Heís old enough now to react to the people around him, so heís smiling and cooing and talking in his baby language. TB and I had a blast making the little guy laugh. Carrying him was another story Ė he weighs a TON! Heís 15 pounds and heís only just 3 months old. TB and I are excited that we get to see him again in a couple of weeks. TBís sister and I kept making The Boyfriend change the babyís diaper in the hopes that he would get a dirty one, but so far heís lucked out and only gotten wet diapers. We figure that during our trip to Arizona heíll definitely get a dirty one.
I leave tomorrow for New York City. Iím really excited to see all my friends and help a few of them celebrate their birthdays. Jer and Er are having their parties on the same night on completely different sides of town, so that will be a challenge, but I think Iím up for it. I am not really looking forward to the cold. At the beginning of the week it was in the 60ís and now itís supposed to snow two of the days Iím there. It poses a packing challenge, to be sure. I am trying to only pack a carry-on, but cold-weather stuff is so bulky! At least I can wear some of my cute hats. I am also looking forward to going to some of my favorite restaurants! Iím going to gain a bunch of weight there. Then itís time for Heatherís Crazy 2005 Wedding Diet! I have three bridesmaid dresses to fit into, baby.
HmmmÖnot much else. Iím so boring without a job. But Iím not bored! Iím still having a blast with TB and my puppy. We found a better place to get her groomed, down in Hermosa Beach at the Bow Wow Boutique. We were able to just walk in and they had her finished 45 minutes later. When we were up north this past weekend, Rigby got REALLY dirty playing in the grass. She was a lovely shade of brown and green, not to mention all the mats in her fur. The Bow Wow Boutique washed her and got all the knots out, plus they trimmed all the places that Pet Co messed up on. Go Bow Wow! Iím going to get some puppy & boyfriend time in now, since I wonít see them for 5 days!

The Boyfriend watched the E! News presentation of the Michael Jackson Trial earlier today...oh my shoe. In case you don't know, E! is reenacting parts of the trial based on the transcripts, since cameras aren't allowed in the courtroom. It was painful to watch. E! has hired actors to portray all the lawyers, witnesses, the judge, and most importantly, MJ himself. So weird. All I need to totally go crazy is for that insane Burger King commercial with Darius Rucker (a.k.a. Hootie) to come on during the commercials. That song is insane! I was with Bree this weekend and every time that ad came on we would whimper for the other to make it stop. The next time that jingle comes on, listen to the words - Burger King is clearly appealing to the stoner set.
I took Rigby to get groomed yesterday. Her fur is very long and she HATES it when I try to brush her. She gets matted very easily around her tail and hind legs, so I figured I would have her hair cut shorter and get her washed in the process. I called around to a few places, but in the end The Boyfriend and I decided to go to Pet Co. When I picked her up, she looked all fluffy and clean...and her hair was still long, except all around her face. They totally butchered her! Upon further inspection, they didn't get the mats out of her fur, they didn't cut her fur shorter, and they didn't trim the fur on her paws - the three things I SPECIFICALLY asked them to do. It only cost $20 at Pet Co, and it is definitely a case of you get what you pay for. I feel so bad - they even cut off her little puppy whiskers! Oh, but don't worry, they totally shaved the area around her butt, so when she is running away from you the business area of her rear is very...prominent. I am never taking her there again. Lucky for her she's still pretty damn cute. She is so soft to the touch. I think she grows feathers instead of fur. That little bow they put in her hair, while cute, lasted about 2 hours. She HATED it, and TB said that the bow crossed the line for him. Hee.
This last weekend I started a crazy streak where I will be busy every single weekend until...oh, I think about July. No joke. This past weekend I was with Bree in Camarillo. Her mom is making my bridesmaid dress so I needed to be there to get fitted. I brought Rigby and she played with her mom's dogs. We had a really fun day, it's so fun to be able to just hang out and do girly things. TB and I went to an Oscar party on Sunday night. Ky and I tied in the Oscar pool - we each got 16 or 17 right. The Oscars were pretty damn boring. Everyone who was supposed to win won. Hence my first place finish! It was nice to come home $30 bucks richer. This weekend TB and I are going up north to see his nephew and celebrate his brother in law's birthday. Hopefully I'll be able to see Jax, too. Then, the weekend after that I'm going to visit my friends in New York! I'm really excited to see everyone. I miss them and I miss the City. Following that, I have about eight hundred thousand wedding-related activities. Busy, busy.
